Rest the red and black wires on top of the winch, and move the winch onto the radiator mount.ġ1. Ensure all wires are free to move and are not pinched between the vehicle chassis and winch assembly.ġ2. With a 10mm socket and wrench, remove the nut from the black negative battery cable, and disconnect the cable.ģ. Pull out the two push rivets securing the winch cover with a pliers.ĥ. Remove and retain the two upper bolts from the lower front bumper cover with a 13mm socket.Ħ. Remove and retain the two lower bolts from the cover with a T27 TORX® socket.ħ. Once the fasteners are removed, pull the cover and radiator screen out together, and set aside.Ĩ. Moving to the winch, ensure the wire routing and connections are correct, and adjust if needed.ĩ. To install the Pro HD Winch on your Sportsman 450 or 570, follow these steps:ġ. Release the rubber latch on both sides, and open the front rack.Ģ. Torque the bumper mounting fasteners with a T40 TORX® socket to 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm) on each side.ġ3. Counter-hold the lower front fasteners and torque to 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm) with a T40 TORX® socket.ġ2. Do not fully tighten at this time.ĩ. With a T40 TORX® socket, install the four fasteners from the outside of the bracket to secure it to the frame.ġ0. Align the holes, and install the two fasteners from the front side of the bumper into the support bracket a 13mm socket.Ĩ. Install the nuts on back side with a 13mm socket.
